#Architecture Project Pick: Casa Malaparte

The inspiration for #CasaBrutale was the #CasaMalaparte, a similarly plinth-like house atop the island of Capri. Instead of Brutale's view of the Aegan, Casa Malaparte has the Mediterranean, and by all accounts (and photos), it is no less breathtaking.

Casa Malaparte was constructed in tumultuous 1942 for a #CurzioMalaparte, a man who had been exiled to the island, and upon release, desired to remain rather than reenter a more populous society. While the world rebuilt itself, Malaparte hired architect #AdalbertoLibero to form his windbreak of a house, its exterior staircase and sunbathed roof a treacherous climb with a truly rewarding sight.
